Fledgling Indian outfit the Progressive Brothers have become the first artists to become co-producers on the extraordinary boundary breaking ‘Richard Durand Vs. The World’ album project. Created from the track stems Richard placed online back in November, their track ‘Veda’ won out in the fiercely contested Australia/Asia quarter of the competition. With DJ Mag saying: “Durand excels with the first of his ‘Vs. The World’ EPs”, his solo track for the EP ‘Chopstick’ is a seismic club-shocker that you’ll be hearing plenty of in his sets over the coming month! Mixmag meanwhile described the EP’s tyDi collab, entitled ‘Loose Unit’ as “working in some great robust riffs and warping, avant-garde piano lines”. In 2009 the Flamingo Records crew compilation captured the White Isle’s club-juice in Ibiza and 12 months later set their sights on the Big Apple for a New York chapter. Producers, singers and songwriters inside the region can head to Richard’s Facebook Fanpage (facebook.com/djricharddurand), click ‘Download’ on the App and grab the base track. Where you choose to go with it from there is entirely up to you! Tempo, style, feel, direction – the choice is all yours. Apply your riffs, melodies, FX, top-lines, mainlines, bass, percussion – hey, do what you need to do to make it pop! You can network with other likeminds online to create it – you produce/they sing, vice versa, or whichever dynamic works for you! Once your masterpiece is complete (you have until the 12th of December to finish it), head back to the Fanpage click ‘Upload’… and put it into contention! Read more
