Sander van Doorn behind the scenes aftermovie from Energy
Sander van Doorn’s triumphant return to the sold out Energy festival in the Netherlands this past February was truly one for the record books. Formerly known as Trance Energy, the event plays host to the biggest EDM stars in the world today. With his closing set, Sander transfixed the crowd, keeping all 15 thousand people dancing until the dawn.
Many thought his headlining performance last year could not be topped, but Sander loves a challenge, and blew the roof so high off the events center at Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, that it’s still orbiting around in space today.

Dutch artist Sander van Doorn wins prestigious Silver Harp Award
In a ceremony that took place on Thursday, the 3rd of March, 2011, Dutch artist and top ranking global DJ, Sander van Doorn was announced as the latest recipient of the prestigious Silver Harp Award at the Buma Harp Gala 2011 in Utrecht, Netherlands. It was handed out by Armin van Buuren, who received the Golden Harp award two years ago.
Due to his Australian ‘Dusk Till Doorn’ festival tour commitments, Sander could not attend the official ceremony, and therefore the award was presented to him at an earlier stage. Sander was surprised on a plane by Armin himself, dressed as a flight attendant. In front of many members of the worldwide press, and with cameras rolling, Armin handed out the award to a stunned Sander van Doorn. Read more

Sander van Doorn aka Purple Haze presents Hymn 2.0
Remember 2005, when Sander van Doorn produced “Adrenaline / Push Off Me” under alias Purple Haze ? One alias out of so many others, such as Filterfunk, Larsson, Purple Haze, Sam Sharp, Sandler, it was a tune to remember. It was a sparse, bass-heavy track with a few keys and synths, and perfectly showcased Purple Haze skills as a budding producer. It took another year to come back with another stormer, called “Eden / Rush” but that was a moment for him to find his own moment of clarity, installing himself as a new upcoming face within the IDM (International Dance Music) spectrum. Speaking about progress, tunes as mentioned earlier, one after another, like the ones he supplied before, 2009 makes the debut of “Bliksem” and his globally renowned style is not absent at all.
Being known such as “Best New Producer” at the Trance Awards and also “Best Breakthrough DJ” in the International Dance Music Awards at the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2008, his productions are easily notable and also being heavily supported by major EDM heads out there. Read more
