COSMIC GATE MIX THE NEXT TRANCE NATION SERIES
LABEL: MINISTRY OF SOUND
RELEASE DATE: 20.02.2012
One of the hardest working duos in dance music, Cosmic Gate are proud to announce they have mixed the latest edition of the prestigious Trance Nation series. Compiling some of their favourite producers, remixers and artists over a 2CD release, Nic & Bossi perfectly capture the future sound of the genre.
Nic & Bossi explain: “It’s an honor for us to be mixing this international, established and influential brand mix series by Ministry Of Sound and be the next ambassador after respected colleagues and friends like Above & Beyond, Andy Moor and Rank1!”
Cosmic Gate’s Trance Nation mix follows their busiest year to date where the guys released their fifth artist album ‘Wake Your Mind’ – peaking at #4 in the USA iTunes dance chart, with album favourite ‘Be Your Sound’ featuring Emma Hewitt still the track on everyone’s lips. Nic & Bossi also released their early years retro-fit album ‘Back 2 The Future’, singles from which took up residence in Beatport’s Top 10 for an extraordinary 3 months straight. 2011 was also the year where the German duo delivered their debut Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, whilst a global tour kept them busy in between, including domination of North America with 70 shows performed there alone. Cosmic Gate presents The Theme
Sometimes the release of a superb new single sees the light of day thanks to a surprising course of events. The same happened with “The Theme”. In April Cosmic Gate contributed a mix for Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT 500 Compilation. It was a mix full of classics from the late nineties up to the year 2000.
One of these classics caught their full attention and so they made a re-edit of it for their DJ sets. Within the last months this re-edit became one of the biggest tunes in their sets and more and more fans and DJ colleagues started requesting it. So Nic and Bossi thought, when everybody is loving this version, why not giving it an official release and here we go!? Read more

Interview with Cosmic Gate South Africa feature
1. Personally, it is always a pleasure to see a mixture of world sporting events and musical performances clash together. What was your inspiration on the World Cup Tour and how did you go about planning such a special showcase?
Cosmic Gate: After so many years of absence playing in South Africa, it was a double pleasure for us to return, first for the gigs, and second of course with the chance to see some matches live, feel the special world cup vibe! and both of this has even gone over our expectations, the shows were simply awesome, the crowds were phenomenal, and the whole of South Africa was presenting itself as the perfect host for this outstanding event, we are really happy and glad this combination has worked out for us so great.
2. Were you able to see any live soccer action and if so what were some of your favorite highlights?
Cosmic Gate: Unfortunately it was not possible for us to see a German match live, but the whole vibe already of the public viewing areas was stunning, we enjoyed the whole week a lot!!! Read more
