Hosting Ministry Of Sound’s flagship Friday nights, those revolutionary laser tinged sessions have entrenched The Gallery into a life ritual. Put the speakers on high alert. Markus Schulz has been back in the thick of it!
Hot off the back of his ‘Los Angeles ’12′ city compilation, with ‘Go!’ he’s giving fans their first taste of music from his new artist album (due later in the year). Back in November Markus had fellow countryman Dennis Sheperd over to his Berlin studio and between them, over some intensive studio sessions, they cooked up this sub-atomic floor-monopoliser.
Giving it their April Single of the Month, DJ Mag said: “sometimes a track requires the verse/chorus/verse treatment and sometimes its just takes one word”. No prizes for guessing which category ‘Go!’ falls into.
In terms of its production dynamic, you can clearly hear who’s bringing what to this party. Markus kits ‘Go!’ out with concussive beats, cyclonic synths and a good n proper helping of distorted techno sub-riffs. Dennis meanwhile trucks in its thermal pads & chords and uprushing, electrifying euphoric touches.
Not shy with the throttle, ‘Go!’ is a Saturday Night Special, ready to consume all in its path. One little word. One juggernaut of a track!

Singer Adina Butar signs to SMG
SMG is proud to announce the signing of Romanian singer/song-writing sensation, Adina Butar. Having already scored considerable mainstream success in her home country, the stage is now set for her entrance into the Global Dance Scene.
The newly launched music management agency from Markus Schulz has signed one of the freshest new faces to emerge in the last 12 months.
“When I first met Adina and saw her perform I was extremely impressed with her”, he says. “I could see that she had a voice that could cross over to my fans. When we started working in the studio, she had an immediate connection to the music. The way in she sings and writes her songs has this natural, raw, impossible-to-fake emotion to it. And that’s exactly what I’m looking for. She has the lyrics, she’s got the voice, and she has the look. You can’t ask for more from an artist.”
Upon making the signing official for their first songwriter/vocalist, in typically tongue-in-cheek fashion SMG produced a ‘Property of Markus Schulz’ video (which you can view on Youtube). Adina is currently working with Markus on new material for his upcoming artist album as well as writing for other Coldharbour artists. Markus will be introducing her to the world at A State of Trance 550 this weekend (31st of March) in Den Bosch. Read more

Last Monday night at Dream, on Miami’s South Beach, Markus Schulz’s Coldharbour Records event became the early toast of the Winter Music Conference, 2012. Playing to a packed house of trance and electronic dance devotees, it presented another pinpoint sharp showcase of the label’s inimitable, much-celebrated sound. It was against the backdrop of the night, and WMC ‘12 at large, that Markus chose to make official details of his new music venture. Under Dream’s roof, all assembled together for the first time were the enterprise’s debut signings. This allowed Markus to formally announced the creation of the Schulz Music Group.
A year in planning & development, SMG has been conceived to provide a to-the-next-level platform for producers sharing similar musical aims and directions to Markus.
He goes on to explain: “since the launch of Coldharbour I’ve been very lucky to work with some exceptionally gifted and driven people. Feeling this way, its natural to want to get as many as possible to the next level and put them into contention as a fully-fledged electronic dance music star of tomorrow. That, in a nutshell, is the objective here so I decided to launch the Schulz Music Group as the means to do that. We approached 3 artists with an offer to become part of it. Between them KhoMha, Mr Pit and Grube & Hovsepian have built numerous tracks that I fuel floors with week in, week out. I believe they exhibit dynamic and forward-thinking musical inclination and as such represent the perfect launch collective. I’m delighted to say that those guys have come on board with SMG at this time and I’m very much looking forward to helping guide and mentor these producer/DJs! I see Schulz Music Group as every bit a long-term, talent-house project. I’m very excited to see where we can take them over the coming months and years…. Markus Schulz nominated for 3 International Dance Music Awards in 2012
The shortlist for the 2012 IDMAs has been announced and internationally renowned DJ/producer Markus Schulz is delighted to have picked up nominations in 3 of the Awards most hotly anticipated categories.
Now in its ninth year, Markus’ weekly Global DJ Broadcast show is in the running for Best Radio Mix Show and he’s also been nominated in the Best North American DJ category (for which he took home the award in 2009). Following the announcement of the fan-voted noms yesterday, he has also been selected for the highly prized Best Global DJ category. Markus said: “I’m as happy as ever that my loyal fans have nominated me in 2012 and it is a huge honour to once again be featured in their shortlist for the Best Global DJ. I look forward to seeing as many of them as possible throughout the Winter Music Conference. See you in Miami folks!”
