Next Generation DJ, the worlds biggest DJ talent search ever, sponsored by Pioneer announces its first winner: Sister duo Maya Vanay from New Zealand are set to be the worlds next superstar DJs.

Since its launch in mid-December, the contest has in its first year become by far the world's biggest DJ competition with more than 3400 competing DJ's and 350,000 votes via letsmix.com. All of it facilitated by Pioneer's support to the grassroots DJ movement. Not only do Pioneer work hard to invigorate the DJ market with new ways of delivering and enjoying music, they also play a key part in helping to find the talent of tomorrow and supporting that talent.

Winners of Next Generation DJ, Maya Vanya first caught the ears of the jury consisting of such dance music heavy-weights as DJ superstar Sebastian Ingrosso of the Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5's manager Dean Wilson and David Waxman, VP/GM of the US premier dance label Ultra Records with their four to the floor sensibility and distinctly global club sound.

NGDJ competitors were asked to create a music mix around the theme of "The New Sound of Miami". Looking at dance music, not only from the industry convention Miami Winter Music Conference perspective, but also globally, one thing is evident: The urban music scene is merging with electronic music. Maya and Vanya certainly showed an understanding of the crossover sound.

Mark Grotefeld, Head of Marketing, Pioneer Europe commented, "Pioneer are extremely happy to have been involved in an initiative such as Next Generation DJ, we pride ourselves in being the leaders when it comes to DJ technology and make every effort to support young and aspiring talent. Having heard these ladies DJ and witnessed their energy, it was an obvious choice. Maya Vanya certainly have the DJ-Factor and it wont be long before they are a household name".

As NGDJ winners, Maya Vanya will receive backing on launching a global career by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, the worlds premier entertainment agency. At club land's yearly event Miami Winter Music conference, Maya Vanya will play a DJ set at the DJ Mag party, whom they will also have a front cover with on a forthcoming issue. Come summer, the NGDJ winners will perform a set for Cream (Ibiza) and also play the Creamfields festival in the UK in late August, as well as a release on Ultra Records, with a major push on Beatport and so the list goes on!

NGDJ runner-ups are Jeremy G, a French born, Israel based DJ/producer whose minimal productions, great mixing and lean-mean promotional skills earned him a second place in the competition; and Adeline Supreme, a Swedish/Argentinean DJ and producer who shows great musical talent and artistic potential. She has got the propulsive tech house sound down pat and therefore took the third spot with a slick, forward thinking mix.
