Interview with Marco V
    1. In two months time you will be hosting your own event, The Art Of, in your hometown. Congratulations. How does it feel to be performing and hosting in Heeswijk-Dinther?

Marco V: That's great, it's gonna be my 3rd time. It's one of the best locations you can think of: In an old middle-century open-air theater in the middle of the forest. Fantastic!!

    2. What was your inspiration for T.A.O. (The Art Of)?

Marco V: Everything on such a night is a way of art. The music, the light, the visuals, the dancers etc. etc., that was the beginning of the idea. Besides that, I really like the "feel" and the name "The Art Of"

    3. What do you hope to bring to this four hour special?

Marco V: A great light and visual show. We have a fantastic stage designed and also working on some acts during the event.

    4. Are you hoping for this become an annual event?

Marco V: This is the kick off. We would like to take this concept around the world. Some big events with the full stage and some smaller downscaled club show, but still me playing from the very beginning of the night until the end.

    5. Going back to this past 10th Annual Indian Summer Festival, could you describe the atmosphere during your performance and were there any highlights?

Marco V: A weird highlight: The weather was horrible that day but the crowd was jumping and having a great time in the pouring rain. That was awesome!!

    6. Not long to go for the biggest London based annual festival SW4, You are one of the artists on the bill. Is there a special tracklist/playlist that you are willing to play at that time?

Marco V: Yes I'm gonna do a special B2B set with my mate Sander Van Doorn. We haven't gone over what we're gonna play, but we will rock it ;-)

    7. Any city in particular that you enjoy among your duration here in the U.S.?

Marco V: In general the crowd in the states is great everywhere. Very enthusiastic crowds makes it special for me to come back year after year. The Audiotistic Festival stole my heart, it was Amazing and I’m playing it again tomorrow (July 24)!

    8. You seem to have an array of performances stretching from across the globe. Other than your hometown, which event(s) will you be looking forward to the most?

Marco V: What I mentioned before the B2B set with SVD is something I am looking forward to. But there are many great festivals around the summer that I can't wait to play at and some amazing beach parties too.

    9. All this traveling certainly must make for sight-seeing and food-tasting opportunities. How much time do you get to explore?

Marco V: Normally I don't have much time to explore things but in my 12 years of global traveling I saw a lot of great things everywhere. My number one food is Asian; I could eat that every day.

    10. Could you describe your favorite place to visit and grab a bite?

Marco V: I need to go to LA at least once a year and spend a few days over there. Thailand is also on the calendar every year, one of the reason is obvious- the food ;-)

    11. Can we expect any new productions in the works? And if so who might you be collaborating with?

Marco V: Yes I have 4 new tracks ready for my new TAO label and a great new (I think vocal track with Benjamin Bates) - "Lost 1" and that's for my 'In Charge' label.

    12. In your opinion, what was your most memorable experience?

Marco V: That is one of the gigs that made by breakthrough in Holland: Innercity 2000, playing at the main stage in front of 20.000 people and mixing the event cd live on stage was superb.

    13. What inspires you most to create your productions?

Marco V: There is no structure for how I produce. Sometimes I start with a bass line, sometimes with the hook or a vocal.

    14. Other than traveling and having, quite possibly, the best job in world, what do you like to do in your free time?

Marco V: What free time ;-P ??? Doing my "job" is so fantastic it takes almost all my time, so no time really for other hobbies.

    15. Any artists currently on your playlist or DJ case that the world should know about (including non-EDM artists)?

Marco V: There are ship full of talented DJ's and producers here in Holland waiting to get discovered. One of the guys who is doing really well that you maybe know already is Nicky Romero.

    16. Is there anything else that you would like to add to your fans and readers here at TranceSound.net?

Marco V: Thank you all for reading this and hope to see you all out there somewhere ;-)
