1. Well, welcome back - you were definitely missed! What have you been doing lately?
Lange: LOADS! In the studio I've been busy writing my new artist album... finishing the last track this week! It's been pretty hectic with some long distance touring including trips to Montreal, Hawaii, New York, Los Angeles, India, and of course Miami for the Winter Music conference in the past few weeks.
2. Take me all the way back, how did it first begin with the "Intercity" compilation?
Lange: I started the compilation series last summer. It's a chance for me to collate some of the best recent and upfront tunes I've played, or will be playing in my Intercity Radio show and podcast.
3. "Lange presents Intercity summer 2009" it was a reason to celebrate a remarkable 12 months since the popular radio show’s launch on AH.fm. What about now, with the "Lange presents Intercity Spring 2010"?
Lange: I think it's nice to bring together some of my favourite tracks supported in the show and provide a mix (or in this case 2 mixes!) of nonstop music without me talking on it!
4. With that being said, what's your particular personal favourite song(s) on the CD?
Lange: If I had to pick a few favourite they would be Matias Faint – Neitherworld (Heatbeat remix), Deep Voices – Heart Of Glass (Ronski Speed Remix), Gerry Cueto – Restart, and the Robert Burian remix of 'spark' by DJ Preach.
5. How do the releases you've chosen for "Intercity Spring 2010" differ from your previous compilation?
Lange: This compilation is darker than the previous edition... this was largely down to the selection of music I received during the period of working out the track list. I actually think it's a more interesting mix of music than the first edition!
6. Can you give your listeners any indication of when your new single, "Under Pressure" will be released to the public?
Lange: It's being released next week fully but has just gone on Beatport as a pre-release so it's available now with remixes for Pulser and newcomer, Paul Vernon! I've been really pleased with the reactions and support on what I thought was a pretty dark underground track.
7. What can you divulge or reveal about the next artist album? Is there going to be one in 2010?
Lange: Sure is! It's out late June and I'm very exciting about this project too! I can sneak out a little information now on the new album but don't want to give away too much just yet ;-) There's a new track with Sarah Howells on it, and also a collaboration with Betsie Larkin, best known for her "Made Of Love" hit with Ferry Corsten. The first single, coming out just before the album drops, is a track called "Live Forever" featuring the vocal talent of Emma Hewitt. I premiered it in my ASOT 450 set last week in New York!
8. Your label, Lange Recordings has been a huge success. What qualities do you look for in producers when adding new artists to your label?
Lange: Quite simple, I'm interested in working with high quality and innovative producers.
9. Can we expect any new vocal productions in the near future?
Lange: Yes, many! After 2 instrumental singles so far this year (Wanderlust and Under Pressure), there are plenty of new vocal singles coming up in the rest of the year. All will be revealed on the album, kicking off with the single "Live Forever" to be released in June.
10. Thank you for sharing all of this exciting news with the TranceSound.net readers and your fans. We really look forward to everything you have in store for us. Is there anything else you want to say to the EDM community?
Lange: Just, thank you very much for your continued support and I hope to meet many of you on tour!
