1. Welcome back Jennifer! It has been noted that you will be heading back to school. Congratulations! What inspired this decision and will your major be focused on your music ?
Jennifer Rene: Thank you! My major will be focused on Psychology. It is just something that I've always wanted to do and I knew that I wanted to finish my schooling someday when I was ready. I feel like I'm in that place in my life now. I can't DJ forever and I want a family someday. But no matter what I do, writing, singing, and music will always have a place in my life!
2. The summer sun is here. Will you be attending any summer music festivals or sessions ?
Jennifer Rene: I am such a summer girl! I live for the sun and water. I really hope to spend sometime in Ibiza this summer, I was there a few years back. It's such a beautiful place filled with great DJs and great music.
3. With your current work on a solo project, what kind of creativity do you hope to bring to the table ?
Jennifer Rene: I want to create a vocal album with tracks that will lift you up, tracks that will pick you up when you are down, tracks that will make you cry and that you can relate to, and tracks that will make you shake your booty on the dance floor. I am looking to try different dance genres and experiment until it sounds right. I want a song of mine to be played and the listener to say without knowing who this is "That’s Jennifer Rene".
4. Will you be taking a stab at production during your project ?
Jennifer Rene: Never say never but right now, I'm just focusing on singing and writing.
5. Will the album include any of your previous wonders such as "Louder", "Wouldn't Change A Thing", and "Fall to Pieces" ?
Jennifer Rene: Not any of those but it will include "Wasted" which a lot of people ask me for a release date on.
6. Any special surprises ?
Jennifer Rene: I'm full of surprises
7. When can we expect the arrival of the first single and album date ?
Jennifer Rene: Good question haha. When I am happy with it and ready. I am a perfectionist and extremely picky. I can't just put out music to be putting out music. It has to be special. So it'll be worth the wait. I love everyone for being so patient haha.
8. Your latest collaboration with Markus Schulz, "Not the Same", is certainly a crowd favorite around the world and no doubt a future summer hit. What was the inspiration for this track ?
Jennifer Rene: Thanks!!! I'm thrilled with the response so far. We have all been in relationships where we've made mistakes and messed up. It's about that. Just telling a person "I’m sorry, I messed up. But I learned and I've changed".
9. What was your highlight of 2009 ?
Jennifer Rene: My music video release of "Fine Without You". That was my first music video and it felt really cool. I hope that I get to do many more.
10. What are your goals for heading into mid-2010 ?
Jennifer Rene: I took a break from writing and singing for a bit this year and I've got myself recently back into it. It feels so great and I hope to continue writing and experimenting to come up with an album I'm really happy with. I would like to release at least 2 singles from the album by the end of this year.
11. Is there anything that you would like to add and say to your readers here at TranceSound.net ?
Jennifer Rene: Always be yourself. Let others do them and you just keep doing you. If someone comes into your life and doesn't believe in you or your dreams, tries to knock you down, tries to change who you are, break free. Life is too short and you are too precious. Flip the "reset" button on and begin a new day. It's never too late to start living. And thank you for all your support and kind words. I wouldn't be here without YOU.
