1. Hi there. How's everything in the world of Antonio Piacquadio ?
Antonio Piacquadio: Everything is moving along nicely. Steve Lawler just remixed a track that I did with Ellesse, "Attention." It should make a nice impact!
2. Your music is kind of "kinky and dirty," to quote one of my mates. Is there anything else to add next to it ?
Antonio Piacquadio: [laughs] I would say that's accurate, and then add, filthy, grimy Tech-House that makes you wanna dance!
3. In terms of productions, how involved are you in the whole creative process, musically ?
Antonio Piacquadio: In general, I do 90% of all the productions from start to finish. I use Logic and find it to be the most versatile and clean-sounding program on the market. Once I've programmed the drums, created the groove and arranged the track and added some effects, my engineer, Dave Rosario, will step in and add some finishing touches as well as master the tracks. That's the process.
4. Let's discuss longevity in this business of EDM (electronic dance music). To my knowledge, you have been active ever since 1988. So what do you feel has been, and will continue to be, the ultimate key to your overall success ?
Antonio Piacquadio: The key is persistence, plain and simple. Do what you love, and if people take notice, then great. If you're doing it for the love of the music, it doesn't matter how popular you are or if you ever rise up the charts, but if you are talented and work very hard, you won’t go unnoticed.
5. Everyone that I know in NYC was speaking beforehand about your show at Basic on the 29th of last month. What was so special about it ?
Antonio Piacquadio: Most of all, playing with T. He is an amazingly talented DJ/producer and I look forward to sharing the decks with someone so passionate.
6. There is something else special about your upcoming gigs. Lots of people are waiting for it. Namely, the debut of your new residency at the new of Sankeys NYC nightclub early 2011. What "behind the scenes" info can you reveal at the moment ?
Antonio Piacquadio: All I can say is that... NYC has never seen or heard what is about to happen. NYC will never again be the same, clubbing wise, and I mean this in a good way!
7. On a personal note, tell me something about you that wouldn't necessarily be revealed through any of your tracks.
Antonio Piacquadio: I'm an entrepreneur of sorts. I own several different businesses all built on individual passions of mine. Everything I do has a purpose. I enjoy creating, on all levels.
8. What exactly do you have in store for the future ?
Antonio Piacquadio: Aside from Sankeys NYC and Manchester, I will continue to follow my passion of makin' filthy Techno beats and rocking dancefloors throughout the globe!
