Nowadays, in the age of social networking, several artists, they no longer have to depend solely on other third parties and other traditional outlets in order to get their music heard by fans eager to heard something unique, new and different. Nevertheless, it is mandatory that they should have a huge personality and consistently bring original ideas on the studio desk in order to stand out amongst the multitude of up-and-comers. Meet the London-based duo band Bentley & Ben Gomori.
Widely regarded as "London's best kept secret", both, Ben Gomori and his partner-in-crime, are on a quest to bring the British sound to the forefront and ultimately bring much-needed exposure to a place flooded with local talents, artists that needs to show what they are capable of.
Not long ago, they were two unsigned artists, willing to expose their music, rhythm and style, but lately, looks like the New York City based label, Sea to Sun Recordings, the home of Sylvia Tosun, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Loverush UK!, Molly Bancroft, Carla Werner, Noferini & Marini, Sted-E & Hybrid Heights, just to name a few. Sea to Sun opened their arms for the Brits - something that should be their future legacy - a label who has steadily made a name of itself along the Pacific Northwest to the fullest since the last couple of years.
On the majority of the EP, the London's talents admirably merges their magnetic persona with the honesty of their message and musical talents, in order to reach a heightened state of conscious creativity, a new level of understanding, a level that only the best new faces may reach to make a name of themselves in such a short period of time. Take "Basta", for instance. Over a catchy beat, cool rhythm, more like down-tempo to me, that literally states Bentley and Ben's state of mind, peaceful and joyful. On the other hand, the Hybrid Heights remix, expresses the benefits of having a quiet mood while listening to it, not far from the original, the remix gives an optimistic outlook as a whole, merging an euphoric feeling with the ability to be danceable on a late and lazy Sunday night.
Furthermore, on "Gianicolo", they furthers the image of an effortless day, something to relate on, adding an angelic sound-a-like. The whole track it's an easy listening, a vivid tale that delivers their introspective charisma, brilliant as their storytelling persona. When it's all said and done, London should be very proud to have Ben(tley) Gomori as a pillar of Melo-Trance representation, and those wanting to know what's good in the other side, and honestly, this type of production are getting familiarly used to consistently hearing their beats over and over again, it's the EP's only flaw.
