Interview with Manuel Le Saux ( 02.06.2008 - 19:20 GMT UTC )
1. Even thou You have missed the last TranceGate event, therefore You were invited as a guest there a lot of times by now, are You in some way related to this event and what is your collaboration with Gianluca, the TranceGate main owner and promoter ?
Manuel le Saux: Me and Gianluca are the "brain and the arm" of TranceGate events. We decided 3 years ago to start and maintain together this project for one reason and one reason only, to make the trance genre a well known genre in Italy. After 3 years we can say that we worked a lot and even if the results weren't so big we have managed to have a lot of beautiful moments and to bring in Italy many famous artists from all around the world.
2. Do you listen other opinions from people worldwide regarding your music and does this influence your next releases ?
Manuel le Saux: Yes, ABSOLUTELY.
3. As one of the main EDM pioneer in Italy, being really well known, what do you think about the trance scene, almost the entire EDM scene in Italy at the moment ? Is there anything that you wish were different ?
Manuel le Saux: I wish that many people will ever start being open minded and stop being influenced by fashion.
4. Since we last spoke, back in 2006 or something, You have been playing gigs in a lot of countries around Europe by now, including Belgium @ TomorrowLand, Poland @ EnTrance, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom too, etc etc, so many of them, but can you tell us what country did you feel that you have gotten the best crowd reaction from ?
Manuel le Saux: Poland, that's with no doubts.
5. I know Ivano aka Fluctor, same from Italy, is a very good friend of yours and that you were like some kind of teacher for him. How did you met him and do you have any upcoming projects with him ? Something that You would love to share here with us, being the first to know ?
Manuel le Saux: Fluctor it`s an awesome artist. It was me that insisted so much to have him as a resident at “Trance Gate” events and now all the people that are coming at the event appreciate him a lot. It's a bet that I won. Right now we have in mind to make a project together but it's still a lot of work to accomplish yet, because I have a lot of things to do for the moment and he knows it. Ivano is a great man in the front of the people who used to criticized him and he is a man who knows what is respect and gratitude.
6. Have you ever consider playing some other kind of music beside EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and if there are any plans for You in the future to create a label or something like that ?
Manuel le Saux: I would never and then never make something else besides EDM. It takes time anyway and this is the element I don't have at the moment.
7. I would like to ask you about any future future events in or outside Italy, that You will attend. Is there a chance to see you playing some big events this year anywhere out there ?
Manuel le Saux: Well on July 5th I will be at a big event in Holland called “Luminosity”, then on August 16th I am invited in Poland at another event called “Colour of sound”, on September 19th at the mega event in Scotland called Rehab. I still wait for the confirm of an event here in Brescia, Italy which will take place on July 19th.
8. I know and I realize several people asked You this by now, back in the days, but I would really love to know where do you see Yourself in 3-4 years from now, since You had and still have all the boost that You need to become what You want to become ?
Manuel le Saux: Wow who knows it... I don't have specific future goals and I don't dream to do this or that... I think only to work hard and I accept the future as it is.
9. Let`s twist it a bit please and let`s go back to what we love the most about You - Manuel Le Saux the producer - and other upcoming projects. What`s the drill with Iulian aka Digital Nature nowadays, any projects that You would love to share with us or any tracks that You have done with him lately ?
Manuel le Saux: Iulian is a big friend of mine too. We worked together at a project called “Digital Nature & Manuel Le Saux – Pretender” that will be released on Discover. We will both be at the “Colour of Sound” event in Poland on August 16th.
10. We all know about Your shows, aired to one of the top streaming radio stations, but is there anything else You would like to tell us about it, such as special guests that You had in the past and also any upcoming artists such as Dj, producers and remixers that will "attend" Your show ?
Manuel le Saux: Well I got 3 radio programs: Top Twenty Tunes on ETN, Danceradio, Liquid FM, Odu radio, Dreamradio and many other fm radios around the world. And then Maneki Neko on Party 107 and Extrema which is an exclusive show on Afterhours.FM. My next guestmix will be on Technoclub Radio show inside the Talla's program 2XLC and Sunshine Live, a fm satellite radio in Germany on June 20th.
11. Please tell us more about Your one of the latest summer anthem, called "Waterfall"
Manuel le Saux: Waterfall is one of my favorite, because I wrote that song in a special moment of my life. I am very happy to know that people like this track. This is satisfaction. I don't make music for money, I make music for the only reason that is to give something to the world. And if people are happy when they listen to my track I'm happy too. I would be empty inside of my soul without music.
12. Talking about productions, what can You tell us about Your collaboration with Paul Miller for the official EnTrance Festival anthem ?
Manuel le Saux: At the beginning I was chosen to play the anthem of the event, and when I heard that Paul Miller would have played too at the EnTrance we decided to do it together, and I can say that, seeing the result, it was the right choice.
13. Any other remixes have You done lately, and You would love to tell us about ?
Manuel le Saux: Well my latest remixes are: "Andy Tau - The path (Manuel le Saux remix)" which will be released on Infrasonic next week I think. "Simon Hunt - The burn (Manuel le Saux remix)" which will be released on Emalodic (Adam White`s label). And now I'm about to finish a new remix with Astuni for Branded Digital a new British label. In the middle of all these remixes I have finished one of my new remixes which has no name yet, I still have to choose it.
14. It seems that we have reached the end of our exclusive interview so, in the end, can you say some comments or some words to the people that are reading this exclusive interview, especially to the TranceSound.net members ?
