Interview with Fluctor ( 02.06.2008 - 20:00 GMT UTC )
1. Please introduce Yourself to the ones that doesn`t know You so far
Fluctor: Hi to everyone whoever is reading this interview, my name is Ivano but as an artist I'm known as Fluctor. I started djing some years ago with the unique reason that is to have fun and make others have a nice time listening to my music. I don't like to label myself with a particular music genre, I listen and play everything I like.
2. We all have heard about TranceGate event in Milan at which you have been invited as a guest, shall we ask you any further information about the party ?
Fluctor: I started to be a resident guest at Trance Gate event something like an year ago and before beeing part of this event I was playing gigs only ocasionally. This event was the only one which, in a few years starting from nothing, was able to bring here in Italy artists like Above & Beyond, Sied van Riel, Airbase and many others. I want to say that Manuel le Saux, who in the last years has grown a lot as an artist, with his music and his carisma helped a lot to bring the TranceGate event at this levels.
3. Talking about TranceGate I have in mind the special guest Airbase and I wanted to know how was the collaboration with him ?
Fluctor: The collaboration with Jezper was a pleasure. He is a very nice and open minded person. I have always admired him for his music and for me it was an honor to be there playing gigs with him. He is a great, professional Dj and Producer aswel and having him at TranceGate is for all of us a great result.
4. I know that it isn't the first TranceGate event where you and Manuel le Saux took part, was the atmosphere better or different regarding the crowd reaction than the other previous events ?
Fluctor: The TranceGate fans are very attached to the event and to the music too. New people start to come at this event nowadays. There is a great atmosphere of friendship and entertainment that make the event a real pleasure for the crowd and for us too.
5. The Trance music as far as I know is not the most known and listened genre by the Italian public in general but I might be wrong, can you give us some details about this and share with us your opinion about it ?
Fluctor: Italy has a lot of old connections with the techno and house music and because of this the Trance genre isn't supported by various events and radios. Lately the situation has improved slightly, but we still have a long way to go.
6. Have you ever played in other countries besides Italy by now ? Can you also compare the Italian atmosphere to the foreign one ?
Fluctor: I have never been at events outside of Italy but I hope to do that soon.
7. Can You please tell me further details about Your show, aired/broadcasted at Sense.FM and who were Your guests, if You ever had any ?
Fluctor: I am getting ready a special edition related to the episode 100 of "Progressive Reaction" with some guests and a very particular set that I will probably record live. By the end of 2008, I will maybe have a new monthly show on a different on-line radio station where I will compile a sort of ranking of the new discs.
8. What can You tell us, about, Fluctor the producer. Is there a chance we can ever listen Your productions ?
Fluctor: Because of my job that eats out all my time, I can't concentrate on the new productions. For now I published only a new disc with Muashi Record, a sublabel of Bonzai Music, called "Better Days". I am also working on other projects too but I have no idea of when I am going to finish them.
9. I would like to know if possible which are the softwares and/or devices that you normally use for mixing and producing your tracks and sets ?
Fluctor: For mixing I use 2 Pioneer CDJ200, a Behringer DJX700 mixer andy the Technics RP-DH1200 headphones. For producing I use a PC with Cubase SX3 and some VSTs.
10.What will be your advice for a newbie in the trance music production ?
Fluctor: I would like to say to everybody who wants to produce, to release their fantasy and have no fear to do something different from what usually they listen
11. Is there any producers, Djs or any other artists that you are fan of ?
Fluctor: The Dj I admire the most is Markus Schulz, I love his live sets and his radio show too. His technique and the way he choose the tracks is perfect and in a total synchronise with my EDM music concept. I admire so many young producers that are creating totally innovative sound and really nice tracks.
12. I have some information about you being invited but still TBC (To Be Invited) in Berlin Germany on 19 July shall we have further details about this please ?
Fluctor: I am still waiting for the confirmation of a friend of mine for the event in Germany, we still have to decide and I don't have any information regarding this yet. I hope the answer will be positive because it will be my first event outside of Italy.
13. As we reach the end of this interview I would like to ask you about your upcoming projects too.
Fluctor: My first goal is to organize a live party related to the episode 100 of the "Progressive Reaction" on Sense.FM where I will have some guests. I am also working on a new EP with 2 tracks which I think will be ready soon, duting this summer. And there will be the new TranceGate event where I have the main goal to make it way better than the last one.
14. Before we would like to wrap up this interview, please say a few words to all TranceSound.net members, or anyone reading this exclusive interview, thanks
Fluctor: A Big Hi to all the TranceSound.net members and I want to thank you for all the support you are offering me and to the other Italian artists !! It's been always a pleasure collaborating with you !
