Ferry Corsten is brilliant. If you weren't at Pacha on Friday night then you truly missed out. This was definitely one of his best performances. It's no wonder that his energy, and ability to work a crowd is making him rise in the ranks. Everyone who knows me knows that Ferry Corsten is my all time favorite DJ and for good reason.

The night started off with meeting with friends and heading to Pacha. From the moment we walked in the energy we felt inside the club along with all of those familiar faces let us know that we were truly in for an exceptional evening. One of my friends had never been to Pacha before so we showed her around. The Made Events, and Pacha staff were welcoming and very helpful. From the moment we arrived the dance floor was jam packed, and hot so we spent most of the night in VIP with the exception of traveling to meet up with other friends throughout the night.

We arrived at about 11 O'clock to see Casey Keyworth aka Breakfast spinning his opening set. He really surprised me. He had a very decent track selection. I recognized many of the tracks including some of his own productions which I like.

Ferry got on the decks a little after 1am if I remember correctly. The first track that he opened with was his own production "Into the Dark" followed up by some uplifting trance tracks that really got the crowd moving. He set the tone well and kept dropping bomb after bomb. Through-out his set there were train effects, and horns blowing. They were kind of annoying actually since they were so loud and would just start up so unexpectedly but they didn't go on long enough to take any of my enjoyment away from the music. The lighting was dark with some lasers and color changing lights, and from time to time additional disco balls would be lowered right above the dance floor.

His mixing was on point, and when we least expected it he snuck in some classics that many have not heard in quite some time such as "Veracocha - Carte Blanche", and "Gouryella - Gouryella". He also seemed to be layering and playing other vocals over different tracks. He also played some unusual remixes of some well known tracks which was nice for a change of pace from the ones that are overplayed like a new remix of "Freefall - Skydive".

At one point all the music went completely silent and people were looking around to see if something was wrong. Next thing you know he snuck another track in so quietly, slowly, and smoothly like only Ferry could. He had a very strong and positive interaction with the crowd. He was pointing at people in the crowd, orchestrating the beats with his hands, waving his arms from side to side, telling the crowd to get ready to for the beat to drop, and making heart shapes with his fingers and kissing them. He was very expressive and a huge smile on his face. Some of the other tracks that were memorable for me were "Cressida - 6am (Kyau & Albert Remix)", "Andrelli & Blue - Imagine "Mike Nichol Remix", and "Markus Schulz - Perfect (Agnelli & Nelson Remix)".

He properly closed his set out with his own productions old and new like "L.E.F." "I Love You", and "Brainbox". Just when we thought he was finished the crowd chanted one more song! He made a #1 with his hands turned around and grabbed "Rock Your Body Rock" and threw it on. The night came to an end shortly before 6am and we walked out talking about how unbelievable his performance was. We can't wait to have him back in New York!
