Balance 016 mixed Agoria plus WMC 2010 dates
After raising the bar to unprecedented heights in 2009 with Joris Voorn and Will Saul’s stunning additions to the series, EQ Recordings’ Balance series returns for the new decade with yet another standard-setting mix from one of the most sophisticated and inspiring names in techno, frenchman - Agoria. The man otherwise known as Sebastien Devaud wasn’t bitten by the dance music bug until he was out of his teens, but once he began hunting imported 12”s from the US and Germany in his native France, there was no turning back.

Digitally Enhanced volume 3 mixed by Will Holland
Enhanced serve up the third instalment of their acclaimed Digitally Enhanced series, with 2 CDs featuring big recent tracks and upcoming material, from the label that’s fast becoming our favourite. At just 27, Will Holland is owner of Enhanced, a fine producer regularly appearing on this very page, and resident / promoter at Leeds event Digital Society – arguably the UK’s coolest trance night. Anyhow... you know what to expect from an Enhanced comp by now… there’s progressive offerings alongside the euphoria that the label does so well, and the tracklist features Will himself, Temple One, Ferry Tayle and Estiva, among others. That's you told.

Cosmic Gate - Back 2 Back 4 - Coming Soon
The mixing of this album was just the right start for 2010, after a highly prolific, successful and quite busy year 2009 for the two guys from Cosmic Gate. The duo not only released their fourth artist album Sign Of The Times, four singles and a bunch of remixes for the likes of Armin van Buuren, John O'Callaghan and Paul van Dyk, but also were highly rewarded by their fans. The DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, the most important DJ list, saw them on place 19, which also made them highest climber! Like its predecessor, 'Back 2 Back 4' will be a two CD compilation released through Black Hole Recordings showcasing some of the most upfront tunes available today with unreleased edits and brand new material.

John Dopping - The mind on Digital Society Recordings
John Dopping kicks off 2010 for DS-R in fine style with this blistering peak timer. A newcomer to the scene, John has featured in the DS Invitation Room at Digital Society, and now we welcome him onto the label after demonstrating a level of production standard beyond his years. Remix duty falls to Digital Society favourite Activa and Dutch star Dazzle. Activa's well known for his late night sets at Digital Society and his remix is typical of the British trance don. The Activa Remix has already been picked up by Armin van Buuren on his A State Of Trance radio show. Dazzle ups the groove whilst adding techy elements and reworks the main structure to great effect.

Marcel Woods - February 2010 updates
As a producer Marcel Woods has long been regarded as one of the most respected artists in his field, equally at home penning crossover anthems such as 'Advanced' and 'Cherry Blossom' as well as a steady flow of hit underground club cuts that are given regular heavy playlist support from the likes of Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn, Judge Jules and Eddie Halliwell. Much of this success can be attributed to the unique sound and style that booms out from Marcel's studio in Eindhoven - it's a little bit house, electro, techno and trance. It's that Woods sound - it's Musical Madness.

Satoshi Tomiie returns with MES – Back to basics
Satoshi Tomiie plays an integral part in one of dance music’s biggest legacies. A top DJ, producer and owner of Saw Recordings, Tomiie is also a member (along with David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Hector Romero and GM, Judy Weinstein) of the legendary Def Mix crew. Those in the know can attest to the fact that dance music would simply not be the same without their influence; and through all the ups and downs of the industry, this team always pushes back stronger. The New York City-by-way-of-Tokyo based Tomiie feels particularly inspired these days and drops a techno monster with the release (under the guise of MES) of “Back To Basics.” On the flip, Motorcitysoul adds some Detroit flavor to the mix.

Umek - Responding to Dynamic released on Sixteenofive [1605]
Sidestepping the recent trend for re-invention and/or some ill-advised attempt at a concept album aimed at a wider audience, production powerhouse and overall techno stalwart, Umek, steps up to the plate and delivers his second long-player, entitled "Responding to Dynamic". It is a simple yet bold statement by the seasoned producer and although it may not be a direct "response" to anything in particular, it is a firm indication of what Umek is about, what he plays and what he makes-something ever expanding and fanatical fan base has come to expect.
