TranceSound administration is looking for a new moderator

Hello to everyone, hola a todos, salut tout le monde, ciao tutti

Just want to inform You that I am looking forward to gain another moderator for TranceSound.net forum, therefore, it`s not that our moderators are not able to run the forum, or any lack of knowledge about music, cause I can ensure You that all TranceSound.net forums are really good at it, tho... but I`m just looking forward to expand and spread the word about TranceSound.net website.

If You think that You can fit in and also if You reckon that You have the skill and everything that takes it to become a moderator, please let me know, and also just want to inform You that it doesn`t metter where are You from, You only have to fit within these rules, let`s sa call them

1. You must understand, read and write English in a very proper way
2. You must have a few things in common with Trance
3. You must be reliable, flexible and also open minded
4. You need to be active on the forum aswell

If You believe that You can fit in, that You`re the person we need.. and the number of moderators I`m looking for are 2-3, and all that I`ll leave it open for a 30 days period of time, starting from 1st of November 2006 all the way to 1st of December... so good luck

Normally I take people of their replies and their music knowledge, therefore, 10 TOP posters could be one of the ways I`m doing too, but then again, I can`t choose a guy that maybe has more posts than I do, but he only posts things like "thanks, ty, 10x, thank You and so on, You name it" only @ "Download section" but then again... I saw a few guys that I expect them to apply aswell... but then again it happen to me, I have messaged them about it being a TranceSound.net forum moderator and they said NO to me... that was so mean

Well forum moderating is hard work and now that the forum has grown like I never seen before it's even harder.

You know your users, choose them and you will not be desapointed, but then again, if they say NO wtf? choose them as they come

Well forum moderating is hard work and now that the forum has grown like I never seen before it's even harder.

i can handle pressure and ive seen bigger forums
admin will choose me cause i have experience about music and other things too

the main reason I am looking for to become a forum moderator its because moderation requires a certain degree of maturity and wisdom and those qualities take experience to build.
the moderators decisions or lack thereof can make or break a forum so even if you lack specific forum moderation experience, feel free to apply if you think you have equivalent life experience appropriate to the task and u need people with previous moderation experience and that isnt because forum moderation is technically difficult is because u need people with experience.

hope i made myself understood why people should become mods and why not and now lets go back to music and lets see what other big names u have there

Ok guys I like the way You think about that, and specially ramada You take advantage of Your skills, like the previous message I had from You via PM, therefore a few certain things I need from You guys, before I`ll ever reconsider adding You as moderators tho

1. Some basic informations about Yourself (ie: who You are, what You do, Your main interests, Your website if You have one).
2. Your previous history with TranceSound.net and how long You have been visiting and how often.
3. Previous forum moderation experience You have had or why You would make a good moderator tho
4. Which particular forum(s) You would most enjoy moderating, further informations about that, please see the entire list below at the main forum.
5. Your city and country, normally and ideally I would like to build an internationally diverse group, as You already see, we have moderators from United States, Australia, Canada, Romania therefore...
6. And the last thing, but not the least... Why you woud like to be a moderator and what makes You think that You`re good for it

yes i know what kind of people u need specially looking for moderators who have previous forum moderation experience,
especially SMF forums and i am one of them and users have been regular or semi-regular readers of this site for at least 90 days and they can be decisive, fair, consistent, and mature in moderating forum posts (aka moderation for smart people like u said people that doesnt just post to gain access to download section
any other expectations from those possible moderators is to participate actively in the forums themselves, at least daily have a passion for trance music and im sure they must be at least 18 years old and have strong english skills and i like that people from all countries are welcome

Yeah, so far You have fullfilled my requests, therefore, brigning this up... I might reconsider accepting You as a moderator mate, due You already have some knowledge about SMF forums and that`s handy for me as a admin and the rest of the TranceSound.net members, but let me write down a few let`s so call them "terms and codntions" of what a moderator tasks are:

What does moderation involve ?

Basically You check the forums at least once a day and use the built-in moderation functions to handle any problems that come up.  You`ll also automatically receive an email whenever a forum member reports a problem, so in many cases You`ll be alerted to problems before You even visit the site and the forum too

Your privileges will include the ability to delete, close/re-open, and move threads and posts. You`ll also be able to send private messages to members (I`m thinking to add a new level access to all moderators), and also before the forums officially grow up as a well known forum, I will personally work with the moderators to hammer out a list of forum etiquette rules, so basically Your job will be to ensure that the community members follow those rules.  Most of this will be pretty obvious (ie: no spam, no sexual content, no harassing people, no religion and political views should be written here and so on, You name it) but then again, written rules will ensure that all moderators are on the same page and the community has a fairly consistent moderation style throughout.

Depending on how many qualified people apply to be moderators and how popular the forums become, we could have multiple moderators per forum or multiple forums per moderator.  I willl also aim to maintain a good ratio that keeps the moderation duties fairly light and on most days moderators shouldn`t have any problems to address at all.

If You decide You no longer wish to moderate, You can quit at any time due this ain`t a full time job and not getting paid at all, most people should know that by niw and I just ask that You give me reasonable notice (two weeks would be great) to find a suitable successor, that`s quiet fair enough

i have no idea how many people will apply so i dont know how selective u will ever have to be, but once all the moderators have been selected, hope i will one of them and whenever everyone is ready, we will open the gates and get this party started

The only reason and the main reason why I am being so "mad" about all this is that this site, specially forum is getting a significant amount of traffic already, that means new people are getting here day by day, so I think it`s wise to establish good moderation from the beginning and do whatever it takes to maintain this forum a very nice enviroment tho

i know what u mean by that i also expect this forum will become very successful not because of the particular topics or the pre-existing popularity of this web site but because of the people the will attract. people who are committed to trance sound and music itself.
