Interview with Fluctor    ( 17.03.2007 - 20:10 GMT UTC )

    1. When did you start Djing ?

Fluctor: I started very soon listening to discoteque music and as soon as I barely had a dozen money I bought two disks and a mixer... My first true disco night was in 2001 in a very famous club in Roma, and from there I started visiting more often the local clubs as a Dj

    2. Are you involved in productions/remixes too ? If so, tell us something about them.

Fluctor: I am working on various productions either freelance or with a friend of mine. Nevertheless, due to many tasks during life time, I dont always manage to dedicate myself to production, I hope to bring to an end all that I create as soon as possible

    3. Where do you buy music from ?

Fluctor: I mainly purchase on-line CD's and MP3's, even if I would absolutely rather buy vynil. But between Dj and vynil more obstacles have occured in the past years. The costs are very high and often many tracks only come in digital

    4. What is one really memorable venue that you've played at ?

Fluctor: My first time was at the Trance Gate in Milan and it was amazing ! I recall I had a really good time, the people were very involved and entertained by the music and this time alone recharges me a lot. I had succeeded in expressing at the maximum what this music genre means to me.

    5. What is the longest set you've ever played ?

Fluctor: A few years ago I was a resident with Manuel Le Saux at the Cyborg discoteque, a place close to Rome, and we usually managed in two the trance room, as a back to back. One night he had to go play in a different place as guest and I had to play all night for about 5 hours, which was great tho :)

    6. Tell us something about your show 'Progressive Reaction' on SenseGenerate.fm

Fluctor: My show "Progressive Reaction" is my first radion programme, and in June shall be its first year. The name takes after the the musical genre I like, the progressive/trance, even if it is the only genre that can be listened within the programme. I play everything that I like the most, regardless of genre, the important thing is to create the atmosphere I enjoy. It is not important the artist of the disk or label, but the song in it.

    7. Your Dj sets are mainly progressive in style. Will your productions/remixes too be in the same style ?

Fluctor: Even if the productions I was working on are part of this style, I am inclined on the tune that is, either in productions or in the sets, the fundamental thing that should not be ever absent.

    8. What do you think about the current trance scene ?

Fluctor: I enjoyed seeing that a good part of the most beautiful disks are produced by emergent young people. I guess this is a good thing, i.e. we will have quality material in the future too.

    9. Are You somehow related to TranceGate events in Milano ? Like if You`re one of their staff members or just guest ?

Fluctor: I am not part of the Trance Gate staff but I hold a lot of respect and esteem for the people that created this project and I share the most part of my time their ideas in musical matters, and consequently my support to the event is always present.

    10. I know You`re very close friend with Manuel le Saux, a respected name in Italy, talking about EDM (Electronic Dance Music). My question now is: Have You ever tried or had in mind to have a colaboration with him ?

Fluctor: Manuel le Saux is an admirable personal, talking in a professional way, either way, personal too. I owe him a lot for what he has unwillingly taught me, so whatever he thinks of me is what he generally thinks of music, I respect him a lot both as person and as an artist aswell. At least for now, we have not started any new projects together, but should this occur in the future, this will give me great pleasure ofcourse.

    11. I know that You have a weekly show at the well known Sense Generate FM, called "Progressive Reaction", my question now is, just tell us a few of Your guests mix You had in the past and Your friendship with them, thanks

Fluctor: As guest I participated at all Italy in the The Mix on AH.FM and at Manuel le Saux's Maneki Neko. Besides always being on SenseGenerate.FM, I had the opportunity of participating with Kacarov DJ Destination Bulgaria. In my programme until now only once I had two guests, but I am in contact with some of the Dj's for future collaborations also from this standpoint.

    12. And as always, we do have that question tho: Please say something for the TranceSound.net forum community and also to those members that would like to start it over being a future Dj or producer :)

Fluctor: This question should be addressed to my little brother, as he choose it for me! Lastly: I see a lot of guys who start to play what people love only to have temporary fame and success. Such a thing is no satisfaction to me, I believe that playing the music that is enjoyable is the same. And the people must appraise what I do, this is the most beautful thing, in all its ways.
