1. First of all, please introduce Yourself to TranceSound.net comunity and also add a few things about Tom aswell and Tearrain as a project too

    We are project Tearrain from Finland. Matti from north and Tomi from south. We met each other while we studied in same school. We've been making music together for about 3 years. Four releases so far, under Subtraxx Recordings.

2. How did You come to discover electronic music ?

    Matti: My first touch with electronic music was back in 96 i think, back then hardcore and dance-music were on top. I remember artists like Scooter, Prodigy, Robert Miles and Antiloop which completely turned me in to EDM. But it didn't take more than one track to take me in to trance. That track was BT - Godspeed which i keep as one of the greatest classics there is.

    Tomi: First artists I listened were RMB, Robert Miles & 2Unlimited, back in the golden season of eurodance, 95. The ones that made me turn in to trance-music were Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto and most importantly Ferry Corsten. Year 1999 was the best year for trance.

3. What draws Your attention to Your next area for music and what criteria do You use to decide to go ahead with a project ?

    Almost everytime we start a new track, first we focus in making the beat groove. It we can’t make a good beat no matter hard we try, a track usually ends up in the unfinished –folder. But when beat is working, the track almost builds up itself.

4. What would You advise people to do if they want to get really good at music ?

    Work hard and try to make quality work, no matter how long it takes.

5. What can we expect from You in the future, what Tearrain has to offer from now on ?

    Right now we are making some remixes and of course some new tunes are on their way.

6. Do You see Yourself djing tracks from other artists after You retire from producing ?

    Of course but to be honest, thinking of retirement is bit too early eh

7. How do You improve Your music once You know it is not that good or the way You always wanted ?

    The key is to mix styles, it makes track more interesting. The truth is that you can’t be happy forever with the work you do. At some point, you must find new ways to improve your music.

8. As a producer what are Your plans for the upcoming months ? Do you have anything new to disclose and share with us tho ?

    There are no plans really, we just keep trying to make new tunes and possible remixes. At the moment we have a lot of unfinished tracks that we must keep working with.

9. What is Your opinion of top 100 dj's turning this year ? Try to be honnest please.

    We don’t care about the poll, it doesn’t prove how popular DJ is. It’s a based thing.

10. You have more success to girls since You have became to have success with Your Tearrain project ?

    We think that if we want more success with girls, we should start making rnb or something like that.

11. How would You describe Your style @ the beginning and also until now ?

    At the beginning we made uplifting trance, now – everything between house, progressive and trance.

12. Have You start djing ? and if yes what so You like the most ? djing or producing ?

    Tomi is the one that have been dj’ing a bit, Matti focuses in producing. Maybe in the future we’ll start dj’ing together. Right now it’s impossible because of the distance between us.

13. I reckon this question comes from a chief from my forum, he is willing to find out tho. What type of food do You prefer out there ?

    Matti: Proper finnish food is the best, potatoes for the win! But Indian stuff is great too.

    Tomi: Fastfood like pizza and burger works everytime but in the kitchen I prefer Indian and Chinese food.

14. Where do You get Your inspiration for Your tracks ?

    Matti: The very source of my inspiration is my own life and nature.

    Tomi: I gain my inspiration from other tracks and my mind. Current state of life and mood decides whether do I get ideas or not.
