1. One thing about your music that was always very compelling was how it was received across a broad scope of various demographics within EDM. Were you ever surprised by the amount of love and attention you got in your travelling ?
Jordan Suckley: I just make the music I love, so it’s always great to get support from DJs across the board! It’s a great feeling to hear other DJs playing your tracks & including them on their compilations!
2. When you first started making music in 2009, Trance and Progressive still had a strong foothold at the forefront of EMI. Today, with EDM becoming so commercialised, has the shift in trends had any effect on how you make your music or get your message out to the fans ?
Jordan Suckley: The last year especially there has been a real merge of House & Trance, which has left a lot of Trance producers in the middle ground wondering which direction to take, to follow the trend or follow your heart! You just have to produce the music you love the most, because that will always work out best in the end! Obviously you need to progress with your music style, but it’s also important to keep the fundamentals of what you are about with your music consistent as well!
3. Throughout your career you have also been an activist for the music to be changed. I always felt that you have pushed the boundaries within inside and outside of your style/genre. At the present time, what are some of the things you are continuing to do in order to further the cause ? Correct me if I am wrong, thanks
Jordan Suckley: I enjoy so many different styles of music, and I am lucky enough to play many different sets, such as warm ups playing some chunky House / Progressive, or later time sets playing the emotional peak time Trance! Variety is the spice of life!
4. Probably your most acclaimed track to date is “Out Cold” released on John O’Callaghan’s Subculture; can you take us back through the making of that record ?
Jordan Suckley: This track came about because John O’Callaghan emailed me asking for me to make a track especially for his Subculture CD. He said he wanted something with lots of energy and an emotional melody, so with those two things in mind, that’s how I approached this track!

5. For any fans who may not know the full story, what originally prompted you to fulfil a career within EMI ?
Jordan Suckley: I have always loved the music, but the one thing that made me decide to be a DJ was seeing the film “Kevin & Perry go large” and also seeing my friend buy some decks around the same time, which gave me the itch!
6. As far as EDM goes, who inspired you ?
Jordan Suckley: I am inspired by anyone who is successful in life! Also DJs such as Sander van Doorn, Simon Patterson, Eddie Halliwell, John O’Callaghan & many others!
7. Being from United Kingdom, and coming up through the indie scene to establish yourself as one of Trance premier underground acts, what kind of challenges did you have to face ? A lot of times when people think of UK, they tend to think of a more Techno, House and Hard Dance as opposed to your Trancy style. Did that dynamic pose any additional challenges for you creative point of view ?
Jordan Suckley: I think rising through the ranks being a DJ of any style of music can be challenging, but in the UK we have great events such as Godskitchen, The Gallery, Slinky, Passion & Goodgreef to keep Trance going strong & are a platform for new DJs to come through and be exposed to the clubbers! The only challenge is trying to stand out from the thousands of other DJs and that is all down to you as a person!
8. You are also going to have a future gig on 28th of October along huge names such as John o’Callaghan, Hardwell, Marcel Woods, Claudia Cazacu just to name a few. What can fans expect to see from you when they attend the event ?
Jordan Suckley: Yeah I can’t wait for the Goodgreef Birthday at Sankeys in Manchester; I will be playing lots of exclusive tracks, with lots of energy and 3 deck mixing!
9. The state of indie Trance and Progressive has changed a lot over the last five years. yourself, being an underground EDM fixture for so long, how have you had to adjust in order to continue reaching out to your fans and staying on top of your game during these turbulent times in the EMI ?
Jordan Suckley: I have just produced and played the music I love the most, and tried to be inspired but not influenced by what music people are liking as time goes by! Music styles come in and out of fashion very quickly, so you need to keep up with trends to a certain degree, but still be original!

10. In the last couple of years, ever since you have started – such a short time indeed – you were honoured by so many major magazines and global Djs of being a future rising star. What was it like being honoured and acknowledged for your contributions to EDM scene, and also as a side note, do you feel it might be time for us to have an insight of how you made it huge in such a short time ?
Jordan Suckley: I have been extremely honoured by the support I have had over the last two years, it’s been a dream come true! It all started for me when I won a DJ competition when I was 18, which got me a few gigs to start with. Also my friend was Djing with Eddie Halliwell a few years back in Bristol, I gave a CD to the promoter, then a week later the promoter called me and said he loved my CD and wanted me to play a Gatecrasher tour in Wales for NYE. I then played many Godskitchen & Gatecrasher tours in Bristol & Wales for a year after that, which as a result got me gigs in other places too. Then I got picked up by PFAgency, who signed me in 2009 and since then, things have snowballed & I have been lucky enough to play many places all over the world! The rest is still to come!
11. What can all the fans look forward to from Jordan Suckley in the coming months and beyond ?
Jordan Suckley: Lots of new music, collaborations with JOC, Tydi, Binary Finary, also my first mix compilation, loads of gigs all over the world including USA, Australia, Malta, Mongolia, Poland, Sweden, Holland & much more!
12. Did you surprise yourself over the course of the last couple of years of being a part to all these major events along so many top names out there ? As far as some of the emotions and feelings that came out as a consequence of taking such a detailed look at your own life and personal experiences ?
Jordan Suckley: What I am doing right now is literally my dream job, so I am extremely happy that my dream has come true! It still takes a lot of dedication and time, but I love it! I remember a few years ago thinking it was a near impossible task for a bedroom DJ to become a professional DJ and have a full time career doing it, but everything is possible! You just have to be a “doer” and not a “talker” and take action to make your dreams happen now and not tomorrow!
13. As far your affiliation with The Arch club in Glasgow, where does that stand ?
Jordan Suckley: I was recently made Resident DJ for InsideOut at The Arches, which is a HUGE event in Glasgow. I have played there a few times before and the crowd is one of the best in the world, it’s a real honour for me to be resident for them! My first event as resident for them is on Saturday with Eddie Halliwell, Tim Mason, Ummet Ozcan, Ben Gold & loads of others! Fun times ahead!
14. Any message for our readers, especially the TranceSound.net community ?
Jordan Suckley: I will hopefully see you all very soon and NEVER give up on your dreams, because they can come true!
