Lost Witness presents Fade Away released on Maelstrom Records

TranceSoundSince the late ‘90s, early 2000 Lost Witness has always been somewhat of a musical journey, a pure Trance producer who provides memorable tracks that walk the fine line between electronic dance music and vocal anthems. Working with producers Miguel Sassot, Paul Janes & Simon Kemper over the years, Lost Witness managed to write and produce many successful tracks. With the releasing of one of the most memorable tracks of that time, such as “Happiness Happening,” “Red Sun Rising” along with Tracy Carmen, “Wait for You” with Andrea Britton, or else these two amazing tracks “Home” and “Love Again” with the angelic voice of Tiff Lacey. Lost Witness is one of the few producers left that creates really genuine vocal productions to further explore Trance’s more ethereal sounds. There is so much to be said about this music sensation, Lost Witness, that it’s hard to even know where to start. There is his love for vocal tracks (working with so many female vocalists explains it all), audio quality, unique instrumental selection, his cutting edge melodic line, and the danceable mood. The list goes on. At least for the moment, the masses remembers him, most likely thanks to his entertainment value and productions.

In fact, and rather surprisingly, in 2010 Lost Witness re-released the 1999 Single “Red Sun Rising” but this time with vocals from Andrea Britton herself, showcasing his latest aural masterpieces in the form of a unique perspective creation. Late 2000, Lost Witness achieved huge recognition and major support from top a-list labels such as Nebula – Maelstrom’s sister label – or else Ministry of Sound and produced several remixes for the likes of ATB, Delirium, Ayumi Hamasaki and also their unofficial remix on Coldplay’s “Trouble.”

Nowadays, in 2011 another track has been released on Maelstrom, his first track this year. This time around, fans will rejoice in the fact that Lost Witness latest offering is as good as anything that he has released in the last few years. There is no question that the addition of Vicky Fee’s voice greatly adds to the quality of this particular release, especially in keeping his own sound fully immersed, a masterful track that fully captures the creativity of a real Trance producer, perhaps a future anthem ? On the hand the story takes place over a happy-sounding instrumental, where love it is yet again a real topic in our lives, so we can easily blend and relate to. Taking Vicky Fee’s lyrics for granted and the way she sings, this is another approach to value the real emotion and the message that she delivers. “Sometimes I wish I could have reached into your mind / To hear those words I could not find / You won’t fade away from me / You are in everything I see.”

The entire package includes both the Full Vocal Mix and the Full Vocal Breaks Mix, a more Dj friendly version of the original. Adam Brown’s remix is another wonderful marriage of Progressive abstract beats and vocals, proving that he is a talented musician in his own right providing an epic journey that blends smoothly with Vicky Fee’s voice. Increasing the BPM, Craig Bradley’s Fading Away remix, is a certified banger that fully captures the listener’s attention with less vocals, but more bouncy drums and chopped-up samples, looping over the vocals. Although the majority of instrumentals on the track are wholly entertaining and adds a powerful emotion, would not have mattered much to most listeners without a bit of House twist. Take, for instance Sami Saari’s remix, a pure statement that vocals are not missing in order to have a great floor filler.

Overall, “Fade Away” is definitely a keeper and is a sonic testament to the musician’s magical ability to make beats that satisfy the Trancer in you. Listening the track and reading its lyrics… I wonder myself, does this full-length be remembered as a worthy addition to Lost Witness representative’s decorated resume of making Vocal Trance music ? I bet it does !
