Interview with JES (High Glow feature)
After having my very first exclusive interview with Jes, also known as Jes Brieden (real name), or else “the voice of Tiesto” back in May this year, few weeks ago I have been given another chance to speak to her in relation to her latest world tour advertising her latest album “High Glow.” During this exclusive interview, Jes spoke about her last countries she visited recently, as well as one of the most funny and intresting stories while touring the album. She also told me about her latest singles being released such as “Closer” and “Awaken” which is going to be a video added to it as well. She also managed to spread the word about some future projects ahead, that means 2011 is going to be a lot busier than 2010 for sure. On top of all those amazing details about her musical life she also managed to say that Rocktronica, it was, is it and always will be Rocktronica for a while. Read more
Roger Shah aka Sunlounger presents The Beach Side of Life
In 2007 “Another Day On The Terrace” was an album that have worked very well for all Balearic minded people around the world. Its title was the beginning of a great journey, that only Sunlounger could provide and it was a full statement that a whole new chapter have just emerged. Several top notch names of artists have joined forces on the project such as Roger Shah himself, in those days also well known as Dj Shah, Zara Taylor (a name that we will always love in Shah’s tracks), plus so many others. That was such a phenomenal project indeed. Both artists could go from sleepy down-tempo to danceable packed tracks with so much Las Salinas-inspired stream of consciousness that the included lyrics sheet was both a necessity and a joy to follow along with. Add to the album a whole new lists of names, from writers to producers, such as Ingo Zielinski. Alexander Pearls, Stevie Lee Young, Ezequiel Etcheverry, Martin Etcheverry, York, Britta Medeiros and you have a perfect album that still sounds ahead of its time. Read more
Interview with Roger Shah aka Sunlounger
1. I heard that, “The Beach Side of Life”, that’s the album title, what’s behind that ?
Roger Shah: Yes, I came to this title while recording a beach in Salinas/Ibiza. While recording I said to myself: “I always walk on the beach side of life.” Back home when I listened to the recording I liked it somehow and kept it as album title and also used it for the intro of the song.
2. You have a very deep, soulful and unique sound, which is missing from EDM today, who influenced your sound ?
Roger Shah: Actually I don’t really know. I think it’s a long time development. A lot of influences I get from natural surroundings, while touring or spending time at beautiful places. I love to create beautiful atmospheres and melodies and enjoy to do real song writing with my singers. Read more
Interview with Antonio Piacquadio
1. Hi there. How’s everything in the world of Antonio Piacquadio ?
Antonio Piacquadio: Everything is moving along nicely. Steve Lawler just remixed a track that I did with Ellesse, “Attention.” It should make a nice impact!
2. Your music is kind of “kinky and dirty,” to quote one of my mates. Is there anything else to add next to it ?
Antonio Piacquadio: [laughs] I would say that’s accurate, and then add, filthy, grimy Tech-House that makes you wanna dance! Read more
